There are two metrics that we use daily/weekly/monthly that are not currently displayed in ResaleAI- average units/transaction for both sales and buys.
Units/transaction for sales we calculate daily against a monthly goal, and is a good indicator of our floor presence and the condition of the store. Employees hiding behind the cash wrap, restock not being kept up on, or just a messy store will drag that number down. Currently, I just use the total items/transaction for the entire month of the prior year to set the goal for the month this year. I've never tried calculating it daily versus prior year because it's too tedious, but I'm sure it'd be easy in ResaleAI to do that since the data is already there. There could then be a magic goal for percentage growth on that to set a goal that's calculated daily?
For buys, we just know that we should be within a range- broadly between 5-6.5, and ideally 5.5-6. If we are below 5 we're being too picky, and above 6.5 we're buying future clearance. It's a less reliable number to look at daily, because you have legitimate days of really great buys and really bad buys, but over the course of a week the averages play out. If we are outside the number, it's usually on the high side, and almost a 100% guarantee you can go through items that have been bought the last few days and find condition issues, bad styles, etc. It would be nice to see the number calculated daily, and then a total average for the week. Doesn't necessarily need a Goal at all, but if anything maybe just allow us to set a range that we want to be in, and then either a green or red indicator of being in that range?
Not sure how many other people use these metrics, but I know some do.
